Water -- Water begins here in Mariposa County. We need to protect this resource for the health of our communities.  We need to improve water quality as well as quantity.  We need to upgrade our water storage and distribution equipment for local community water companies as well as improving wastewater treatment capabilities.  Funding is possible for certain projects through the Integrated Regional Water Management Project (IRWMP) but we need to get more people involved in the effort, providing input and supporting it.  We also need to develop more information on ground water available for residential and agricultural use.  Some work is being done for the IRWMP, but more will almost certainly be necessary to guide planning decisions.
